It is almost the winter holidays time. The time when people come together, relatives from all over the country come to their home towns. You will certainly have some close friends and family members visiting you. In order to make their stay comfortable you should do your best to provide them with a nice place to stay. Here is how to make your guest room welcoming.

Soon you will have relatives arriving at your door, and you should be ready. It is not about turning your home into a hostel but at least make the guest room look suitable for a “bed and breakfast”.

We all are into the habit of storing old clothes and other stuff we currently don’t need in the potential guest room. Let’s do some deep cleaning and de-cluttering as the room will be occupied soon.

Start from the closet. Gather some hangers and try to empty at least half of the wardrobe. You don’t know for how long the guest will be staying, so they need some space to hang their clothes, too. You can store yours in your room, temporarily, to leave a good impression on guests. Few days with some extra hangers is not so big a deal. It is worth, your guests will be impressed.

Dresser drawers are another place you should re-arrange. Empty the top 2 drawers, so your guests will be able to store their socks and underwear in a safe place. Make them feel at home, as it is not practical to keep all your clothes in the luggage.

And finally deep cleaning and dusting. Make the bed and dress it in some satin sheets and put a lavatory basket on the dresser. Fill it with shampoo, soap and toothpaste. Use commercial trials, they are cheap and you can easily re-stock.
