If you think that your neighbour’s house looks strange or weird, then you are about to change your opinion very soon. I have gathered a special collection with some of the most unusual houses around the world. It is difficult to put them in order by their bizarreness but you can decide for yourself which is the most unusual. shoe-house

The Shoe House

Apparently, this house is no longer a fiction from children books. It was built in Hellam, Pennsylvania, USA by a local shoe magnate. At first the shoe was used as a guest house, but now it’s a museum.

The Bubble House

bubble-houseDesigned by architect Antti Lovag, this strange house is located in Cannes, France. Since the early 80s it belongs to the famous fashion designer Pierre Cardin.

The Spaceship House

spaceship-houseYes, you read that right. It’s a house in the shape of a flying saucer, placed in the woods near Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. This unusual home has a total of 2000 ft living space, which includes 3 bedrooms, kitchen, living room, 2 bathrooms and a large entertainment area.

The Snail House

snail-houseI laughed so hard when I first saw this snail-shaped house in Sofia, Bulgaria. I thought “Who would live in such a funny looking home?”. It appeared that this is not an ordinary home, but a kindergarten. Probably all children are more than happy to stay there.

The Toilet-Shaped House

toilet-shaped-houseSouth Korean activists decided to create this weird house in Suwon in order to give a start of a global toilet association. Asians will continue to amaze me.

The One Log House

one-log-houseAs the name suggest, this home was hollowed out from a single log from a 2100 years old tree. It took the creator Art Schmock around 8 months of hard work to finish the unusual house, located in Garberville, California, USA.

The Upside-Down House

upside-down-houseThere are actually several upside-down houses around the world, but I chose to present you this one built in Terfens – an Austrian village. This house captured my attention, because it is upside-down both on the outside and on the inside. The two Polish architects who designed it, wanted it to become a tourist attraction and it definitely did.

The Teapot House

teapot-houseI think that Americans have the strangest houses, because this one is also located in the USA. It was built in 1922 and is actually meant to serve as a historical monument, a reminder of the Teapot Dome Scandal, which involved president Harding and the federal petroleum reserve.

The Seashell House

seashell-houseSenosiain Arquitectos created the seashell-shaped home for a couple, living in Mexico. The design is so amazing that it makes me want to live in this fairy tale house.

The Boeing 727 House

Again in the USA a person can find this renovated plane, which is now the home of Joanne Ussary. One of its most interesting features is the personal jacuzzi placed in the cockpit.

Believe me, there are much more than 10 unusual houses out there, which every London inventory clerk would love to inspect. Maybe I will make a second part of this article to show you the miracles of human creativity.
